Another week passed.
And i was pissed off to the max in class almost everyday. Okay, this is so typical of me to be angry. CHILL MAN, STUPID YANZHU. I guess being in my class made me even more hot tempered than i am in nature. Not laudable at all. AND much apologies to deborah ho ahah whom i always complain and whine to in class ) : I SHALL STOP ALL THESE CRITICISM AND COMPLAINTS! well, i'll try.

Thursday was fun with pothole, like usual. Her sole presence could just make me laugh and plus her stupid nonsense, it was sufficient to make me unable to eat my orange bowl. ): i took more than half an hour to eat just one $1 loashufen dry with alittle alittle chili! -.- DANG! went to visit band with elaine and weiling and sat infront of the band in the hall. Well, sia's voice kept booming in the hall and kinda miss it huh. BUT i would never want to experience it ever again. NO WAY. OH and later i brought weiling to sit at the stairs at the carpark outside the hall to listen to them haha! THEY PLAYED SINGAPORE RHAPSODY! MY MISSED FAVE ): It never fails to bring back so many memories from SYF 2005. Sitting at the stairs did made us look very emo! hahah

Talked alot about our class and yea. I guess we are pretty much in the same predicament. thanks for the talk! I LOVE POTHOLE. and tuition was H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S. the new chem teacher kept mispronoucing her words like acids, bases, and SOCKS! plastic became BLASTIC. heheheheheheheheheh.

njc open day was kinda cute as the sch hired bus to send us there! GREAT SERVICE HUH!
(: but i left early at 430 so didnt get to tour the sch and visit the different ccas. IT TRIGGERED MY EXCITEMENT TO VISIT MORE SCHOOLS! im looking forward to Rjc's and Vjc's open house (:

IN THE MEANWHILE, i should kkick my butt and study study study. Prelims are in a few days' time and im really scared.

random updates!

hah! i survived another much-higher-degree-of-hecticness week.
Right, I'm pretty sure that is not an official word. (hecticness?)

As my title suggests, this post will be just some random updates of the previous week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I must say all the tests we have weekly are so engraved into us that we simply do not bother how many tests we have any more. And i realised all the whiny complains about how many tests we are going to have next week or the week ahead is totally obsolete from our lives. Talking about growing up and having so little time within our grasp that all these little 'wastage" of time seems to much to risk. Even i have forgotten what tests i have sat for the whole of this weeeek. IT'S BECOMING A DAILY ROUTINE! This brings me back to 3 years ago when i was still a erm... gullible andd rather immature little maniac. We were complaining unremittingly over just, 1 TEST which is only 2 chapters that was a mere 15 pages or so, with large graphics. -.-
I should have just shut up and foresee what life will be 3 years down the road.

Well, we;ve survived a geog mockkkkkkkkk! yeaH! i remembered how our whole class felt so jittery and panicky about the test and just a few mins before it, everyone seemed deranged. haha

I just came back from the overseas education talk held in our drama studio. The usa education seems rather appealing. The speakers were cool too.they were from usa!but the qualifications for University in Usa is much higher than canada, australia. Im gonna work hard and get a damn schlorship! Studying overseas is so much quicker and recognised than Singapore. But acutally, our NUS is quite recognised :D But i would love to experience life overseas especially in a 4 seasoned country. The scenery and outdoor activities are much more enthralling and exciting than what we can find here. The environment is very conducive and the school building has victorian taste in it, which is just so rich in culture! And i would defnitely want to learn how to speak perfect english (: i was damn captivated by the two speakers from USA. Going overseas allow you to be almost a year or so ahead of local students and we have a niche above them if we were to go overseas. AND WE GET TO GO INTO THEIR UNIVERSITY JUST ONE YEAR AFTER STUDYING IN THEIR COUNTRY! Our sec 4 grade is equivilent to their last grade in high sch and after which , they proceed to UNIVERSITY! ITS DAMN FAST! :D and in usa, we can get to study a few courses for bachelor/associate degree when we haven't decide on what to major in. When we decide to major in something which is somehow related to our courses, we can get our master's degree. OH BTW, one has to spend 15 years in USA to graduate from medicne faculty O_O! THIS MEANS I WILL BE STILL STUDYING WHEN IM... 31 ahahaha! well, i shall throw that out of my mind. I wont wanna waste my 20-30 years of age, burying my face in books and out of my homeland. Im still rather inclined to study overseas. Perhaps i'll get a bachelor degree there(usa, canada,uk or aust though i dont raelly like the rumoured discrimination there) after my A levels (3-4 years) [ ): ): ):] then i'll come back to singapore to get my master's degree. whoosh i will be around 27 my goshness! I was still thinking if i have time for my phD! godnessss!

In the meanwhile, I WILL STUDY HARD FOR O LEVELS AND A LEVELS!

Sometimes i wonder what is the main objective behind, studying so hard and getting all these high degrees. So after i graduate from studying life, I'm gonna work and work and work till i die. hmmm....i think i would rather study and study and study till i die.

yeahhhhh! omg im damn excited and happppppy todayyyyyyyyyy!
I'VE NEVER FELT SO PATRIOTIC AND DAZZLED AND SO ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT NATIONAL DAY BEFOREEEE! LIKE AFTER 15 YEARS OF CELEBRATION! hahahahahaha.
well, to begin with.. i left my house at 430 with my family to head to marina area, where suntec city and esplanade are..
The entrance place was really bustling and vibrant! the whole NATIONAL DAY and patriotism was filling up every corner, every heart, every insect, every living thing present.Everyone there, be it Singaporeans or non Singaporeans, chinese, malays, eurasians, indians were all clad in all shades of red and white. erm well, not my family in this case. I get super proud and estatic when i spot a Eurasian or a caucasian or a tourist wearing our Country's majestic red and white colour-ed clothings :D But i must say, i think almost 3/4 of the singapore popluation was out at this area. IT WAS REALLY PACKEDDDDDDD! I'VE NEVER SEEEN SUCH HUMONGOUS CROWDIN MY LIFE! Today's experience was a real eye-opener for me. Though it may seem kinda intimidating, it held tinges of sweetness and togetherness. Never will one see so many people gathering together and wearing the same colour code(well, almost everyone) and having the same aim and spirit!
Dad went to park his car, while me mom and my bro wandered around, immersing ourselves well into the vivacious and dynamic festive moood. Walked to suntec and sat at Gloria Jean's cafe for potato salad and caesar chicken salad. A healthy yet delectable choice of delicacy, to go with the hustle and bustle of invigorating city. while eating, i seriously do think that the city area and orchard road is a heaven of fashion shows. I see many people of different sizes and ages, all adorned with a wide diversity of clothings. Ranging from mini skirts, to tight jeans and retro dresses to the zen sexy tights. We were waiting for our dad's "arrival" when he suddenly called me and asked me to run to the hall! we left out food with no qualms and dashed there. AND OMG! The ceremony for the march past was superb! The man in those nicely ironed uniforms, marching shoes and shiny badges glistened under the light of the hall. they looked really smart and handsome :D as in, not in the pretty way but the neat handsome (: I LOVE THEIR WHITE UNIFORMSSSSS! AND I LOVE THEIR MARCHES AND COMMANDS AND THE WAY THEY CAN MAINTAIN AT THAT POSITION FOR SUCH A LONG TIME. oh btw, this is the first time, they have this ceremony in public (:

we followed them out and took some photos! oh i had a video of them marching out to the marina bay stage with the snare and bass drum again (:

neat and man right! :D im damn inspired to join the army and march together with them! oh by the way these men are specially selected, not random selection so i guess they are the better men in the different sectors in the armed force :D

After they left, my dad broke through all the barricades and tried to joine behind them. oh and we stopped to see the other uniform groups march. (: I SAW BOONYI. aha okay.. dont really know her btu i caught a picture of her.

we followed the ppl, RIGHT AT THE BACK OF THEM! everyone was staring at the row of us haha but who cares. i felt like a total paparazzi thou (: but it was a truly wonderful experience. MY DAD ROCKS! HE WAS THE ONE WHO LED US TO FOLLOW THE MARCHING PPL! but the traffic police made us go back to the concrete pavement ):

so we decided to proceed to the merlion bay to have a good and closer look at the fire works later in the night. Walked a big round through the esplanade park because the esplanade way under ground was blocked ): i must say the palce was a total stuffed out area ): almost died haha. stinky and stuffy..walked through the place and i really really saw many many many people! i've never seen so many people in my lifeeeeee! all red and white, in all directionssss! sadly, i dont have a photo of it! ahhaah BUT IT WAS A REALLY SCARY SIGHT! alright, im scared of crowds =\ but but it was fantasticcccc! people were sitting on the patches of grasses, some on the sides of the fountains, throw your sight across and you see many many amny thousands of people sitting precariously on the sides of the bridge just opposite the stage. yea! it weas packed, im definite. we walked to the bridge linking to the fullerton. and it was jammed. erm its not the cavenagh bridge thing, but another bridge hahah.its next to the cavenagh brdige thou (for cars). Seeing that therew was no hope to catch any thing there, we headed back. the pedestrian pathway for us was really cramp. people were trying to stay at the sides of the bridge, and people like me were trying to get out. At the other end people were also trying to get in. socan you imagine, the traffic there? the pathwy was a mere 2 m wide. with concrete and bricked walls at the side. so we can neither jump out or move. it was horrid. People stinked ahaha and sweat dripped ): it got quite serious that i stood there, breathing and hyperventilating for fresh air for about half an hour. STUCK! some erm..impatient people started shouting and screaming and hollering, creating such a racket. it got many people angered and it was really frightening. It seemed as though a fight was gonna break out and a stampede would occur. i felt people pushing my back and me leanign against my mom's back ): i was really apprehensive. I was trying to protect my bro from being pushed and falling cause he's kinda insignificant in that kinda crowd. my parents started to "admonish" some of the younger ppl who were hollering non stop. Like what's the point right. I managed to snap a shot amidst all the chaos.

Yesterday, miss choo showed us a really creative and fabulous video clip about Singapore. And it was really hilarious yet enriching for me. Well people might think it is really stupid and lame or just simply find it funny and thats it. However, i do look at it as a reallly special and exotic icon of us, Singapore. Infused with humour and our typical singapore singlish, it does portray another beautiful side of our singapore's history and somehow, our interesting happenings and issues. IN which country would the citizens protest obediently indoors? IN which country, do we see LRT? IN which country, do we see people trying to smuggle bubblegums back to singapore haha!

I happened to chance upon this really exasperating comment that left me in ineffable state of shock. The first line of this song sang by hossan leong goes like this " Sang Nila Utama, saw a lion Alamak.." so Sang nila Utama was the man who found out little island and named it Singapura, where SINGAPORE is originated from that malay name. And this person who think he/she is super cool and hip to not know who Sang Nila Utama as a Singaporean said "who is Sang NIla Utama?" and " im a chinese and a singaporean, but i dont know who Sang Nila Utama is haha!" I felt so ashamed and despondent as a Singaporean when i saw that particular comment. I never understand how can any citizen of Singapore can be so proud to not knwo about his/her own country's history. Even my brother who is only a primary 3 student knows who Sang Nila Utama is. I may be making a big fuss here but Singaporeans are rapidly losing their own chinese roots and i seriously would not want to witness any phenomenon of losing out knowledge about our heritage and history. This leads me to the issue of Singapore's education system. Im a total aggressor towards the education im pathetically and helplessly under now. First was the removal of Em1 stream, and the policy of letting every one have a chance to study HCL. Second was also the removal of Chinese subject for University admission. Now, the government just removed the special stream from secondary education, and giving everyone a chance to take up HCL. So, where do SAP schools stand now? Might as well, just remove this whole SAP school system thing. im so pissed with the damn education system ): I have the urge to just carry my stuff and my family and leave Singapore right this moment. I feel so..damn hopeless. We cant master both chinese and english well. Now, our chinese have lost its "footage" and english may seem to be climbing up, but our English is still not up to standard with our singlish. And i seriously can't tolerate chinese who can't speak chinese and thinks that English is their mother tongue.

If i have the money and scholarship (Which i will work hard to attain), i will step out of this place with my family and migrate to UK.
